Water Safety, Lifeguard & Instructor Classes
Basic Water Rescue
Designed for anyone who wants to sharpen their skills in water safety. Course includes general safety practices, basic rescues, first aid skills and spinal injury. If enough interest is generated, a class will be offered. A minimum of six participants are needed.

Location: Healdsburg Swim Center
Junior Lifeguard Class
Boys and girls ages 10-14 are invited to participate in this Junior Lifeguard class. Activities will include use of rescue tube, skills in water rescue, first aid, rescue breathing and plenty of fun. This is a good place for future lifeguards to start their training.

Junior Swim Instructor Course
Get a head start on your future as a lifeguard or swim instructor. Skills taught include beginning swim skills, swimming strokes, and child CPR. Students passing the course will have the opportunity to assist with swim lessons.

Ages: 11 – 15
Location: Healdsburg Swim Center
Lifeguard Training
This course includes all the certifications needed to be a pool lifeguard in the State of California. After successful completion of this course, students will be issued American Red Cross Certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid for Lifeguards, AED and Preventing Disease Transmission. Prerequisite: Age 15 and strong swimming skills.

Water Safety Instructor Course
This American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor course trains instructor candidates to teach all American Red Cross swimming and water safety courses except Lifeguarding. Prerequisite: Age 16, ability to pass swimming skills test. Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) included.
